Thank you so much to those of you who have taken the time to contact the main political parties and electoral candidates in your area. Securing their backing and support for this petition is of paramount importance. I have been encouraged by the responses we have received so far. 

As government has been dissolved for the election, we are currently unable to meet with any politicians, however, as I am sure you would expect, we are using this time to plan and prepare for post election; to ensure legislation for Jess’s Law is successful in the future.

Our immediate goal is to further bolster this campaign by achieving our next goal of 500,000 supporters. Please may I have ask you all to encourage at least one other person to sign this petition in the next week? If you are all able to do this, we will easily achieve our target.

You will see the photo linked to this update is of lovely Jess. Of course, she is the reason why we are here and why we campaign so hard. We don’t want to be here, and we most certainly do not want other people to suffer the same pain and heartbreak. 

This photo was taken of Jess in hospital. She was making up dances in her bed. I am not going to pretend she wasn’t devastated by her terminal diagnosis. She was. She was frightened, shocked and she was not ready to die. But, my goodness, she was inspiring. She showed such magnificence and dignity. She left me in awe and so, so proud. When people say ‘a beautiful person inside and out’ they mean someone like Jess.

Let’s do this for Jess and to protect all the people we love the most.
