I had a power cut last night!

Please share this petition, even if you have posted on social media before, please make sure you do it again!

So last night, we had a power cut, the people originally impacted lost power at 17:30, we didn't lose power until about 23:00, on a Friday, so naturally after a few drinks.

So, drunk person with candle light, what is the worst that could happen!

Power came back for us at 02:30 in the morning, so well beyond the 1 hour we will be given going forward for emergency calls, if any time at all (as the 1 hour is only voluntary guidance, as opposed to strict rules).

(Post code to look up is CO7 0 if you want to check yourselves, funnily, the UK Power networks did not in any way capture the volume of premises impacted, they recorded 3, HA!)

But, just moving about in poor light, it reminds you how vulnerable people can be in certain scenarios. I am all up for technology moving forward, but we have to retain the benefits that technology has offered us, otherwise a new solution isn't a better solution, it is just a different solution.

When you see this mail, just think about people you know who are vulnerable, or could be vulnerable, and how easy it is to fall victim to accidents.
