Hello Everyone,
It is with immeasurable sadness I bring you the news that Alice lost her fight with cancer and passed away on the 15th April 2015.
We are devastated at the loss of such a loving and ebullient mother/wife/sister/aunt/cousin/friend and it still feels totally unreal. Although Alice lost her fight, she would not have had the last 7 months to make precious memories with her husband and two children, family and friends without receiving the treatment that we all campaigned for; the treatment that was so generously funded by The Harris & Trotter Client Charitable Trust. It helped her to look so well and gave her the energy to enjoy life, which is why it has made it harder to understand losing her.
With this sad news there is, however, a silver lining.
Alice’s doctor had put forward another one of his patients for the same treatment that Alice received and on the morning of her passing, The Harris & Trotter Charitable Trust stepped in to fund the treatment. I am sure you will all join us in wishing her every success. Alice would have been so happy that her story has led to this outcome. Thanks to Alice and the petition they knew what the most positive action was and were able to take the quick and decisive steps required. This demonstrates how confident Professor Sekel is in this course of treatment and without Alice’s complications, we are sure that the results can be far more successful.
We cannot thank you all enough for the sensational support, well wishes and positivity that truly lifted Alice’s spirits during such difficult times. Every single signature, personal message and donation meant the absolute world to Alice and our family and for that we are eternally grateful. We, as a family, will also continue to support The Harris & Trotter Charitable Trust as words cannot describe the kindness and generosity that they have shown. With continued support they can help more people like Alice.
Please go to www.donate4alice.com and if you can donate to this amazing charity anything you can spare will gratefully received. 100% of your donation goes towards helping people like Alice, so that they can receive appropriate treatment that is sought by their doctors but that is not otherwise funded by the NHS.
Thank you once again for all your support. You all helped make a huge difference.
Love Jo and all of Alice’s family
