Hello, 

      My name is Jane Nieves and Kevin Nieves is my son. Kevin is 19 years old and facing attempted murder charges. 

On Aug 20 2018, Kevin and a couple of his friends decided to go to a bon fire party in October Mountain in Massachusetts. 

Tragically what was suppose to be a night of fun turned out to be the worse night of their life. That night KEVIN and his new female friend attended the party together. 

Somehow his ex found out and started making plans to come with the boy she cheated on my son with. Court messages between my son and his ex CLEARLY shows my son was trying to avoiding problems but " u there with her why should it bother you" . 

What court documents and the media are not saying that the victim tried to hit my son with his truck a few minutes prior to the horrific events. My son had a stick because victim tried hitting him with the car. When the victim on his owm free will got out the car my son dropped the stick to have A FAIR FIGHT! Obviously Kevin's intentions was not to hurt that guy if he dropped his stick. The victim stabbed my son in the mouth and someone else on their stomach before being shot by someone else thatwas at the party. No one deserves to be shot and an innocent kid shouldn't have to pay for a crime they didn't commit.

First Kevin lawyer represented him and dropped him after his first arraignment because he knew the victims family as well as all criminal defense lawyers in Pittsfield Massachusetts. My son didn't meet his lawyer for at least 2 weeks After he got arrested. 

Fast forward to: October 18 ,2018

Recordings of the real shooter CONFESSING but still charged my son with the shooting and kidnapping that never happened. I think $20,000 is not considerable bail when you have proof that Kevin wasn't the shooter.
