The symptomatic tumor and any blood supply has now been eradicated. The procedure done within a 15 minute treatment, using only a small amount of lidocaine to numb the area. I was awake and coherent the whole time with occasional minimal discomfort.

The Doctor quickly and skillfully inserted the specialized needle, using the precision of ultrasound guidance. I was asked to speak at different times during the procedure to ensure the vocal cord was not compromised.  Dr. Baek seemed to know when to take a break and finished the treatment with "We got it all," music to my ears. I danced out of the treatment room with a smile on my face, knowing we had saved my thyroid. An ice pack was placed on the area to relieve the slight burning ache. I was asked to stay in the observation room  for about an hour holding the ice pack in place and then released. 

Afterwards I noticed I could swallow without obstruction for the first time since 2016. It will now take some time for the thyroid to heal and discard the dead cells.

I believe this technique of using Radiofrequency is the way of the future for  thyroid nodules and some types of thyroid cancer. There is one rare type of cancer that is questionable for this procedure, as per Information derived from the research documents.

Please keep spreading the word through social interaction and social media as hope for others. So many are not aware of Radiofrequency as a possible choice. Call or email your local politicians to request thyroid Radiofrequency be legally offered in your area. When we know better, we should do better.

Together, let's get this amazing treatment into our learning centers/hospitals/clinics, to allow our progressive and caring doctors to be able to utilize.
