James Jackson Parkway NW Traffic Light Safety Petition

James Jackson Parkway NW Traffic Light Safety Petition
The Issue
Why this petition matters...
- commuter traffic along James Jackson Parkway (JJP) is a safety concern for neighboring communities (e.g., Westside Bend at Proctor Creek (WBPC), 12th & James Luxury Apartments, The Manor at Scott's Crossing, Jackson Trace Townhomes, etc.) along and surrounding the JJP corridor
- the intersection of JJP and Creekside Drive NW has limited traffic visibility presenting hazardous driving conditions due to a lack of traffic control measures
- there have been 2 fatal accidents and an increase in traffic accidents along JJP that have endangered the lives of drivers and pedestrians, as well as destroyed private property
- our communities should not fear for our safety when entering, driving along and/or exiting the parkway due to a blind turn and/or speeding
- Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has been notified for over a year without any expressed action for a long-term resolution (e.g., traffic light)
How you can help...
- sign this petition to build support for immediate action by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) to install traffic lights on this parkway to protect the safety of our communities, drivers, and neighborhood visitors
- showcase solidarity to improve visibility, regulate vehicular movement to reduce the risk of accidents significantly, urge local authorities and transportation departments to act with urgency for the safety and wellbeing of all residents who live and/or visit along JJP
GDOT Statistic...
- GDOTs 2019 report, states areas with limited visibility have a higher rate of accidents compared to those with proper traffic control measures
Thank you for your support!
