If your child was being unfairly treated in a court system, would you want people to speak out in their defense? We would, we feel anyone would, so this is a situation where the kindness of strangers is a blessing. Italy, Great Britain and the United States utterly failed to protect the rights of Meredith Kercher, Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito in 2007 and these unfortunate young adults became the poster children of Safety Net failure. The laws and rights that should have protected them were violated and all three countries have not adequately addressed the fact that Meredith Kercher's real killer, Rudy Guede, is being protected by the same people who made a number of grievous mistakes in the her own case file before the Italian Supreme Court. The courts should not make a ruling using erroneous information, so the solution is to simply remove the mistakes. As citizens, it is our duty to ask Italy, the UK and the US to step up, do their jobs, and properly address the contents of this infamous case file. Ask your friend to do this for Meredith Kercher, a British citizen, because the Perugians are protecting her killer and that is an unconscionable act. To do it for Amanda Knox, an American citizen, because she is a victim of wanton character assassination and is wholly undeserving of this fate. To sign for Raffaele Sollecito, an Italian citizen, because he helped a friend and does not deserve to be imprisoned for an act of compassion--again. And do this for themselves and their family because what happened to these young adults can happen to anyone. Please sign because the rights these innocent people are entitled to are also our rights.
