We are requesting that the City of Pittsburgh keep the Statue of Christopher Columbus in Schenley Park in the Oakland section of the Pittsburgh.  We are also asking the City to provide security for this statue with lighting and security cameras. 

It is a beautiful piece of art sculpted by Frank Vittor who immigrated to the United States from Italy and resided in Pittsburgh.  The monument is one of many contributions he made to society and the city.

Erected in the 1950's, it is a tribute to all Italian Americans who have helped to build the City of Pittsburgh.

We need to RESPECT and PRESERVE all of our HISTORY and all of our CULTURE.
