O problema

Francesca and John didn't steal Polin season. Because we didn't get one.

It wasn't approached as a romance story. Polin wasn't the main foccus, nor Colin Bridgerton treated as a protagonist. They even rewrote and reshot a significant amount of scenes because the showrunner has no idea how to write Polin - she saw the season as a build up for the next ones, wich was noticible due to Benedict's huge screentime and Polin season being used as a sort of prologue for his story (exploring his sexual adventures in a plot that usually is reserved for the first episode of their season as lead). He (Benedict) was in every episode of Polin season, with about 27 minutes of screentime (this is more than he had in previous seasons combined: about 20 minutes for seasons 1&2). Polin's is the only Bridgerton season without a flashback of one of the main characters - with leaks apointing at least one flashback of Sophie's childhood - with the scene in wich Colin describes first meeting Pen being a reshot.

It wasn't Polin season, it was Bridgerton season 3. We dindn't get a Polin season. Luke and Nicola didn't get a Polin season. And we deserve one, they need one. They need their time to shine and protagonism to be respected.

What we need is more Polin. And Polin acting like Polin, with Polin vibes… Like they did in the carriage scene and their first time and their first kiss and the scene Colin brings Pen to Bridgerton house and the market scene and them gossiping in the courners and Colin confronting Portia. We just need more of that and less of whatever feels like it belong in an enemies to lovers story - because their not it.

We miss Polin so much because a lot of Polin season didn't feel like Polin at all. But that can be fixing by adding more Polin in their season. They have the means and the money to do so and they owe Luke and Nicola a season that actually feels like them and giving them the protagonism and time to shine they desserve – it would also be a perfect opportunity to fix the overly edited cover of Romancing Mister Bridgerton.

Polin deserves respect. Colin Bridgerton (and the actor who brilliantly portrays him, Luke Newton), deserves respect. Penelope Featherington deserves the respect of a season that doesn’t show fatphobic undertones or a redeeming arc for her bully. Nicola Coughlan deserves the respect of not being overly edited in the tye-in book cover (something that didn’t happen with any other protagonist, male nor female).
