It's time to remove artificial dyes from America's food

It's time to remove artificial dyes from America's food
The Issue
In a meeting with top executives from food companies like Kellogg and General Mills, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. shared his plans to eliminate artificial dyes from America's food supply. Signers of this petition agree: it's time to remove synthetic dyes from our food.
The primary purpose of synthetic dyes is to make unhealthy food more visually appealing. They provide no nutritional value and pose unnecessary health risks to consumers.
The FDA finally banned Red Dye No. 3 in January 2025, more 30 years after it was linked to cancer in lab rats. While other dyes have yet to be directly linked to cancer, the research is decades old. We can't wait another 30 years to find out if we're potentially poisoning ourselves – it's time to be proactive.
Many food giants already use natural food dye alternatives in their products abroad, due to restrictions on synthetic dyes. Why shouldn't Americans get safe alternatives, as well?
Food should nourish, not deceive. As consumers, we have the right to know that the products we purchase and feed our families are safe and free from harmful additives. Artificial dyes have no place in our food, and it is well past time for companies to prioritize consumer health over cosmetic appeal.
Sign to express your support for removing artificial dyes from America's food supply once and for all.
