I have decades of experience navigating an Endometriosis diagnosis since 2005 however I experienced so much medical misogyny, gaslighting and systemic trauma where access to complaints to a hospital or medics was not easily accessible in my earlier years.
In January 2016 I attended a business meeting with my solicitor & I will never forget the shock he got when he saw me! I was so visibly unwell.
The following day I collapsed at home alone with my then 14 year old son & nearly died.
I made it to hospital by ambulance & thankfully survived it but it opened up a Pandora’s box of decades of medical negligence & systemic failures that lead us as far as the High Court & since a settlement out of court in 2022 I wanted to help others in the community by creating change.
Change can happen when more people speak out about any issues they are having with medics by contacting the correct departments and informing them.
Since 2022 I have been working on a Campaign to help make important changes in the healthcare system & have had incredible support from TDs & my legal team.
Looking forward to bringing the findings of 3 years work to the new Minister of Health & to share my lived experiences to create change and improvements for all.
