Dr. Yousef is a 73 year old, retired lecturer who is suffering from high blood pressure. Dr. Yousef was kidnapped from his home in Nablus by the Israeli Army on 27 August 2014. He has subsequently be interned by Israel without trial or charge, known as administrative detention. An Israeli Military Judge signed an order to inter Dr. Yousef for 4 months. His lawyer is not able to see the 'evidence' against him and therefore offer any defense.

Israel's use of administrative detention may amount to a war crime as it is used indiscriminately to hold Palestinians without access to a defense.

Ghassan Najjar was kidnapped from his home in Burin village, just south of Nablus city, on 27 August by the Israeli Army. He has been transferred to the notorious interrogation facility, Petah Tikva. On Sunday 31 August Ghassan appeared before a secret court in the facility where a Israeli Military Judge agreed to his detention for a further 7 days. Ghassan has had no access to a lawyer. Israel has been accused of various forms of torture of Palestinians while being held in isolation by Israel.

Ghassan had been arrested the day after attempting to prevent Israeli soldiers from invading the local school and arresting children as they undertook classes.

We demand the two men are released immediately and safely.
