Hi everyone,
Since the previous virtual town hall meeting hosted by assemblywoman, Cottie Petrie-Norris, was recorded and not live, there is another opportunity to attend the meeting but LIVE! Please refer to the link HERE to RSVP to the live virtual town hall meeting, which will be on Facebook Live this Wednesday, April 15 from 5-6 pm. During the meeting, unemployment challenges and concerns during COVID-19 will be discussed. More specifically the following will be discussed:
- How to apply for State & Federal benefits.
- How to take advantage of the State's new job website onwardca.org.
- Additional state and federal resources available for employees impacted by the COVID-19 epidemic.
So far, Irvine Company has done nothing to compensate tenants during COVID-19. This is very upsetting to hear. However, there is an article written about this issue by the Voice of OC. Please continue to share the article on social media. Additionally, a team of UCI students and faculty and Irvine City council-member, Melissa Fox, are working on meeting with members of the Irvine Company to negotiate on rent and lease costs via a Zoom meeting.
In the meantime, please RSVP to and attend the virtual town hall meeting on Wednesday, April 15 from 5-6 pm to voice your concerns during COVID-19. Also, submit any questions you may have on unemployment-related issues by Tuesday, April 14 by 5 pm to the following email: Assemblymember.Petrie-Norris@assembly.ca.gov
Many people are struggling financially during this time due to things like job loss and reduction of work hours, so hopefully you all will find the meeting helpful for your individual circumstances.
Stay safe.
