Literary boost to campaigns against animal cruelty practices
Jun 25, 2019 —
The campaigns against hare coursing and fox hunting in Ireland have received a welcome boost from the publication of Fiona O' Connell's wonderful book Lay of the Land.
Fiona writes a Sunday Independent column and she never loses an opportunity to focus our attention on animal protection and environmental topics, apart from her eloquently crafted musings on nature. She paints pictures with words of each season and its little miracles, bringing to life on the page the sights, sounds and textures that inspire her creativity.
She makes an unanswerable case for banning atrocities like hare coursing and fox hunting, and urges compassion as a cornerstone of all our dealings with animals.
The book is a compilation of her compelling articles, including, thankfully, ones dealing with the very issues that this petition seeks to address.
The book is in the shops now and can also be acquired ftrom Amazon:
