The Issue

This petition requests IHRB known as Ireland Horseracing Regulatory Board to reinstate John Hanlon’s Training license with no forthcoming 10 month suspension

John Hanlon, a licensed trainer in Ireland has done so much for Racing Ireland he should be given another chance for what was effectively a ridiculous situation that he was put in

John who is also known as ‘Shark’ was left with a dead horse on his land and because of the rules of not allowing that to be left more than a day he had to move the horse himself because no one else could, sadly on a windy day, the tarpaulin that had been tied to cover the horse came undone and his vehicle was then filmed by an opportunist person probably hoping to make some money out of the story   The result however was IHRB removing his license to train in due course

John has never shown any wrong behaviour towards Horses in anyway, in fact he has become quite an influencing character in the support of horse racing not only in Ireland but within the United Kingdom, America and even has fans in Australia

The IHRB somewhat overreacted and certainly the punishment was an incredible reaction, even if he was guilty of failing to secure the tarpaulin He should not be punished as severely as this and he should be allowed to continue his life as normal in racing.
