REINSTALL LIGHTS WHICH WERE TAKEN WITHOUT COMMUNITY CONSULTATION!

These 2 GREAT HARDCOURTS at Grande Avenue Park, Springfield Lakes ONCE for MANY YEARS had fully functional lights which allowed for vibrant community tennis action in Springfield area and were a great attraction for all levels of tennis players, juniors, parents & kids.

EVERYONE who uses Grande Avenue Tennis courts LOVES THE COURTS and Night Tennis was once very active. Infact the lights were on to 11pm until they were gradually changed from 10pm to 9pm. There was NIL Flaws with the lights and lighting system and it could be publically accessed as evidenced by the photo displayed

Shamelessly in 2023, the Ipswich City Council had private contractors remove the lights without any notice let alone community consultation. Despite numerous calls and emails NO ONE FROM THE COUNCIL has EVER REPLIED or attempted to return the lights.

Upon questioning Mayor Teresa Harding as to WHY the lights were no longer no adequate response was given and she advised us to send the matter to her email. To this day there has NEVER been a response! And how can there be ANY RESPONSE?!

The lights should NEVER been removed and there is NIL REASON for them NOT TO RETURN

Now with the lights removed there is limited options for Public Night Tennis

Despite the 2024 ICC Budget being the LARGEST IN HISTORY how much more ratepayers money is required to simply have what we once had??

WE CALL FOR THE IPSWICH CITY COUNCIL TO RETURN LIGHTS TO GRANDE AVENUE TENNIS COURTS
