Dr. Plagman was asked to leave the Cedar Rapids School District. After 49 years in the district, 35 of them being at Washington, he is retiring. He was asked to step down after a substitute teacher and a student has a personal and inappropriate relationship. Dr. Plagman has always cared about every student in that school, knew everyone by name, and even helped out with students who could not afford lunch.
