Revelations by the Associated Press about the misuse of Iowa infrastructure funds to pay salaries of top officials at the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs, as well as the DCA's false claims about finishing the Civil War Battle Flags conservation project, reveal the need for a thorough audit of the entire department. The leadership of the DCA cannot be trusted with state money appropriated for safeguarding the collections and artifacts of Iowa history.
