Long road ahead.

If you're receiving this email, you signed my petition, and I thank you.  To date I have only 42 signatures, so please share the link.  I've found a little word of mouth followup helps too.  I think it appears as spam to most.

Since starting the petition I've created an email group with all 150 Iowa legislators currently in office, and sent the link along with a brief intro to all of them.  To no surprise, I have only received replies from 3.  If you'd like a copy of that email group, email me @ bthp52@yahoo.com  (highlight, copy, paste) If our lawmakers receive enough input on the topic, maybe we have a shot at fixing this.

I've had some feedback regarding some of the content in the petition surrounding "the law", so I've made a few edits and included a link to the Iowa Code section to clear that up.  Specifically, I stated there was no Iowa common law.  There is, but just not in the context that most people think and not a way that helps my case at all.

Beyond that, I have a pretrial conference on the 23rd.  I'm hoping a settlement can be made then, otherwise its game on.
