I am asking for public support calling for an independent investigation into allegations of inconsistent discipline, workplace treatment, and potential misconduct involving the Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania Post Office and the USPS management structure overseeing it.
Over the past several years, I have personally experienced what I believe has been unfair and disproportionate treatment by USPS management. Most recently, I was involved in a dog-bite incident that resulted in disciplinary action against me. A Postmaster from another office was willing to have the suspension related to that incident removed from my record, and I have since learned of statements allegedly made by Postmaster Duddy at my office describing the dog-bite incident as a "fireable" offense.
The situation raises an important question: Are USPS disciplinary policies being applied consistently to all employees?
At the same time, employees at my office have reportedly been told by Postmaster Duddy about an allegation that a carrier improperly used a USPS fuel card for approximately $900 in personal fuel. I am concerned, about reports that the employee remains at work while the matter is supposedly under investigation.
If these reports are accurate, the apparent difference in how these situations have been handled deserves an independent review.
I am also aware of reports concerning other employees who allegedly received severe discipline for comparatively minor misuse of Postal resources. If such cases exist, I believe they should be examined alongside the circumstances at the Jim Thorpe Post Office to determine whether USPS disciplinary standards are being applied fairly and consistently.
My concern is not simply about one employee or one disciplinary action. It is about accountability, transparency, equal treatment, and whether employees have a meaningful avenue for reporting misconduct without fear of retaliation.
I am therefore calling for:
• An independent investigation into the allegations surrounding the Jim Thorpe Post Office.
• A review of how disciplinary decisions have been made and whether USPS policies have been applied consistently.
• An examination of any allegations involving misuse of Postal funds, fuel cards, or other government resources.
• A review of complaints previously submitted to USPS management, the USPS Office of Inspector General, and other oversight authorities.
• Appropriate protection for employees and witnesses who come forward with information.
• Congressional oversight where appropriate, including consideration of an independent audit of USPS workplace and disciplinary practices.
I am not asking the public to assume that every allegation is true. I am asking for these allegations to be investigated by an authority that is independent enough to establish what actually happened.
If you are a current or former USPS employee who has experienced what you believe was inconsistent discipline, retaliation, abuse of authority, or failure to investigate misconduct, I encourage you to document what happened and use appropriate official reporting channels.
The goal should not be to punish anyone based on rumors or accusations. The goal should be truth, accountability, equal treatment, and a fair workplace for everyone.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me and this effort. Your support and willingness to speak up are deeply appreciated.
