I am a British taxpayer deeply troubled by the idea of funding genocide through my tax payments. The thought haunts me that IDF soldiers who are guilty of war crimes are potentially returning to Britain without facing any consequences for their actions. As a responsible citizen, I believe it is imperative that we uphold human rights, rule of law and justice. It's simply unjust that they retain their citizenship without any investigation into their actions while overseas.

Keir Starmer has recently announced the need to be vigilant about jihadists returning from Syria after the collapse of the Assad regime, and I believe we should hold people we call allies to a higher account. Therefore we must apply at least the same standard to the Israeli Defence Force soldiers.

According to a report published by the United Nations Human Rights Council, IDF soldiers may have committed war crimes during the Gaza protests in 2018 (Source: United Nations Human Rights Council, 2019).

According to the social media we have all seen, war crimes absolutely have been committed, and most importantly, the perpetrators have advertised and promoted their crimes, so will be easy to identify and charge. Like many, I wish to see this potential issue investigated thoroughly and transparently by our government. If they're found guilty, their British citizenship should be stripped and they be deported back to Israel. It is necessary measure to ensure we're not silently condoning war crimes and it could serve as a deterrent for future violations.
