Too many citizens have claimed that their mailed ballots were not handled correctly: either never received or received but not counted. Others have claimed to receive completely empty envelopes in lieu of the requested mail-in ballots. This issue disproportionately affects Democrats, who are statistically more likely to vote by mail than in person. Concerns have been fueled by disturbing remarks by Trump stating “I don't need anyone's vote to win.” How could such a statement be made, before election took place. Along with burned ballot boxes, containers of votes found on the side of the road, and intimidation tactic by the republican party. As well as the election being called when large numbers of votes had yet to be counted? 

Whispers of voter suppression cannot be left unanswered. In the 2020 presidential election, mail-in voting increased drastically due to the Covid-19 pandemic, showing its significance in our democracy. A study by Stanford University showed that vote-by-mail does not benefit one political party over another, affirming the importance of this voting method's integrity.

We believe in an electoral process where every vote counts. The alleged mishandling of mail-in ballots and premature election call is a threat to our democracy.
