Investigate misuse of VAWA in Green Card applications

Investigate misuse of VAWA in Green Card applications
The Issue
I am writing this petition to bring light to the grave injustice I have faced and to urge for an immediate investigation into the misuse of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) in Green Card applications. In December of 2024 after discovering that my Wife married me only to obtain her Green Card I was falsely accused of domestic abuse, aiming to manipulate the legal system and gain her Green Card under false pretenses.
This ordeal has left me not only emotionally scarred but financially devastated. When these false allegations were made, I found myself at the brink of losing everything I held dear. The trauma from being wrongfully painted as an abuser is something I have to carry for the rest of my life, directly impacting my mental health and well-being. Fortunately, the case was dismissed due to extreme contradictions in the original petition, multiple depositions under oath, and failure to directly address the allegations when asked in person by the Judge but the damage to my reputation and finances was done.
Unfortunately, my situation isn’t an isolated case. There is a growing concern over individuals exploiting VAWA, often supported by organizations with their gains in mind, to obtain U.S. citizenship illegally. This manipulation undermines the credibility of a system designed to protect those in genuine need.
VAWA provides a lifeline for victims of genuine abuse; however, when it is abused, it not only damages those it was designed to protect but also those falsely accused, which leads to undue suffering both emotionally and financially. Fraudulent cases under VAWA contribute to an unnecessary burden on the immigration system and create skepticism towards legitimate claims.
I call on the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and relevant authorities to conduct thorough investigations into allegations of VAWA abuse. Implement stricter vetting processes and transparency in the evaluation of such cases to ensure the true victims are protected and those misleading the system are held accountable.
It's time to scrutinize and reinforce the processes that protect individuals sincerely in distress, without giving room to those who wish to take undue advantage of them. By addressing this issue, we can preserve the integrity of the immigration process and protect all parties involved.
Please sign this petition to urge the authorities to take action against the misuse of VAWA in Green Card applications, securing fairness and justice for all individuals affected.
