The following emails were exchanged:

Jill, (native american ombudsman)

I am unsure if you can help me or not, but the ombudsman refuses to help me with my situation. This is not my 1st complaint and my previous complaints were denied any investigations by the ombudsman and their responses were degrading, unjustified, and honestly abusive. Now they are telling me they won't investigate due to a termination of parental rights and them not being able to share any information about my children with me. I'm not asking for info, I'm asking for somone to protect my kids.

A child's rights to be free from abuse while in the states care, whether parental rights have been terminated or not should not be a deciding factor if the ombudsman are to investigate. Sense when do we hold children accountable for the actions of their parents? Does the ombudsman refuse to investigate child abuse by foster parents and agencies not following policy and laws based on parents compliance with case plans? My understanding was that the ombudsman whether the skin color was to investigate matters where there is a chance a child could be abused or if the agency's are not following laws, so then why would it be that termination of parental rights or compliance with a case plan is the driving factor for the children who are white? To include adults who work as ombudsman receiving information of child abuse and stating they are not mandated reports? Where is the humanity in that!

My kids were sexually and physically abused while in foster care, my previouse reports were denied investigation leading them to be in the home of a foster care parent who was criminally investigated by police for abuse of children in her care years prior to mine and my children remained in her home until the investigation found her to be neglectful of children previously to mine. They were her punching bag during this investigation and the agency refused to protect my kids and the ombudsman who is a non bias entity staffed to protect the children refused to help because they believed the agency and said I didn't work a case plan.

Why do my children get no help because of anything I have or haven't done? Is this the way the ombudsman operates? Why is the voice-mail always full when you try to call there? Is it because they are white that they get no help? I'm sorry, but this is the most horrific thing I have seen in a long time.

For example, if this is the way that the ombudsman wants to function think of it like this,

the people who hid Anne frank, they were breaking the laws, the people who killed an frank were following the laws. Law is not a moral compass and the ombudsman is allowing the abuse of children because termination of parental rights was based on an improper decision. What drives your agency? The law or morals? Because no child deserves to be abused by any human being.

Will you help protect my children? Or will you allow law to abuse them and rip them from people who love and care about them?

(I sent above email after the below email and response they wouldn't investigate. I also made complaints previouslyto the termination which they refused to investigate stating that I just needed to follow my case plan that the SW reported I was not doing. )

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Obermeier:

Thank you for contacting the Office of Ombudsperson for Families (OBFF). On March 28, 2024, both of you lost parental rights therefore, this agency cannot discuss the Isanti County case with you. The OBFF will not open a case concerning your complaints.

Ombudsperson Manuel B. Zuniga, Jr. advises you may benefit from consulting with legal counsel or a family law attorney. Consider  contacting Carrie Doom, your court-appointed attorney. You are urged to seek advice from additional resources that can support and prepare your family.
