I, along with millions of other Ontarians, fear the repercussions of alcohol privatization. This fear doesn't stem from change itself, but the potential loss of an estimated 2.5 billion annual revenue that currently supports crucial public sectors like education and healthcare (source: Statistics Canada).

This concern intensifies due to George Soleas, who serves as the head of the LCBO (a public body), yet also sits on the board of "Retail Council of Canada" - an entity advocating for private alcohol sales.

It raises questions - is Soleas' involvement an attempt to privatize alcohol sales at the cost of Ontario's public resources? His dual roles present a potential conflict of interest, blatantly violating ethical codes and rules against involvement in outside activities that conflict with his LCBO duties.

That's why we are appealing to the current Integrity Commissioner of Ontario, J. David Wake, to launch an investigation into George Soleas. We believe this step is critical to maintain ethical oversight within our public organizations.
