Through this petition, we bring attention to grave concerns surrounding the conduct of Daksh Foundation under the Animal Birth Control (ABC) program in Panipat. It has come to our knowledge that this body might be responsible for illegal killings and suspicious deaths of street dogs, which contrasts to the dedicated purpose of mitigating animal cruelty. Furthermore, there have been reports of inhumane catching and transportation actions which flout basic ethical norms. Moreover, there is an alarming lack of proper identification and disease segregation and growing concerns over potential undue influence by NGOs. The exclusion of local animal welfare stakeholders suggests a worrying lack of transparency in the operations.

Our demands are straightforward and urgent: An immediate independent investigation into these discrepancies is crucial. We demand a comprehensive audit of the Centre, suspension of operations to prevent further harm, inclusion of local volunteers in post-care for unbiased welfare practices and necessary disciplinary action against any found violator. It is high time that those responsible for any malpractices under the guise of animal welfare programs are brought to book.
