To: The Government of Canada, Minister of National Revenue of Canada، Minister of Public Safety, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, and the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS).

WE, THE UNDERSIGNED, Canadian citizens and residents, are deeply alarmed by reports regarding the activities of certain individuals involved with the Iranian Canadian Congress (ICC).
WHEREAS in June 2024, the Government of Canada designated Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist entity under the Criminal Code, recognizing it as a group engaged in terrorism;
WHEREAS reports indicate that representatives affiliated with the Iranian Canadian Congress have made statements or engaged in online discourse that appear to normalize or justify actions taken by the Iranian regime—including the granting of citizenship or support to affiliates of internationally designated terrorist groups—and have failed to properly condemn the regime's violence;

WHEREAS Dr. Raheleh Tarani, as a representative and current Board Member within the ICC, has been documented engaging in advocacy that some community members view as protecting the interests of the Islamic Republic rather than the human rights of Iranian Canadians, particularly in the context of ongoing calls for accountability regarding the IRGC;

WHEREAS the ICC has faced repeated criticism from Iranian-Canadian activists for being perceived as a lobby group for the Islamo-Fascist regime in Iran, rather than a representative voice for Iranian-Canadians, which includes many who have fled the regime's oppression and yet not immune from the threats.

WE PETITION the Government of Canada to:
Investigate the activities of the Iranian Canadian Congress and its current leadership/representatives (including Dr. Raheleh Tarani) for potential foreign influence or activities that run counter to Canada's national security, particularly following the designation of the IRGC as a terrorist entity.
Ensure that any individual or organization in Canada normalizing the actions of designated foreign terrorist groups or agents of the Iranian regime is held accountable.
Recognize that the Iranian Canadian Congress does not speak for the majority of the Iranian-Canadian community, many of whom oppose the ideological, terrorist-supporting actions of the Iranian regime.

In conclusion,  we thank you for making Canada safe and feel like home. 

 
 
 دادخواست: بررسی و محکومیت عادی‌سازی روابط با وابستگان تروریست‌ها توسط نمایندگان کنگره ایرانیان کانادا

دولت کانادا، وزیر امنیت عمومی، وزیر مهاجرت، پناهندگان و شهروندی، و سرویس اطلاعات امنیتی کانادا (CSIS).

ما، امضاکنندگان زیر، شهروندان و ساکنان کانادایی، عمیقاً از گزارش‌های مربوط به فعالیت‌های برخی افراد مرتبط با کنگره ایرانیان کانادا (ICC) نگران هستیم. از آنجا که در ژوئن ۲۰۲۴، دولت کانادا سپاه پاسداران انقلاب اسلامی ایران (IRGC) را طبق قانون جزا به عنوان یک نهاد تروریستی تعیین کرد و آن را به عنوان گروهی که در تروریسم دست دارد، به رسمیت شناخت؛ از آنجا که گزارش‌ها نشان می‌دهد نمایندگان وابسته به کنگره ایرانیان کانادا اظهاراتی داشته‌اند یا در گفتمان‌های آنلاین شرکت کرده‌اند که به نظر می‌رسد اقدامات انجام شده توسط رژیم ایران - از جمله اعطای شهروندی یا حمایت از وابستگان گروه‌های تروریستی بین‌المللی - را عادی‌سازی یا توجیه می‌کند و به درستی خشونت رژیم را محکوم نکرده‌اند؛ از آنجا که دکتر راحله طارانی، به عنوان نماینده و عضو هیئت مدیره در کنگره ایرانیان کانادا، به ویژه در زمینه درخواست‌های مداوم برای پاسخگویی در مورد سپاه پاسداران، در فعالیت‌هایی مشارکت داشته است که برخی از اعضای جامعه آن را به عنوان حفاظت از منافع جمهوری اسلامی به جای حقوق بشر کانادایی‌های ایرانی‌تبار می‌دانند؛ از آنجا که کنگره ایرانیان کانادا با انتقاد مکرر فعالان ایرانی-کانادایی مواجه شده است که به عنوان یک گروه عادی‌ساز برای رژیم سفاک عمل می‌کند، نه به عنوان صدای نماینده مهاجران، که شامل بسیاری از کسانی است که از ظلم رژیم گریخته‌اند یا در امان نیستند؛

ما از دولت کانادا درخواست می‌کنیم که:

فعالیت‌های کنگره ایرانیان کانادا و رهبری/نمایندگان فعلی آن (از جمله دکتر راحله طارانی) را برای نفوذ خارجی بالقوه یا فعالیت‌هایی که مغایر با امنیت ملی کانادا است، به ویژه پس از تعیین سپاه پاسداران به عنوان یک نهاد تروریستی، بررسی کند. اطمینان حاصل شود که هر فرد یا سازمانی در کانادا که اقدامات گروه‌های تروریستی خارجی یا عوامل رژیم ایران را عادی‌سازی می‌کند، پاسخگو باشد. اذعان داریم که کنگره ایرانیان کانادا نماینده اکثریت جامعه ایرانی-کانادایی نیست، که بسیاری از آنها با اقدامات ایدئولوژیک و حمایت از تروریسم رژیم ایران مخالفند.
