Firstly, thank you to every single one of you who has signed and shared this petition. Your support has helped keep a vital light shining on the inhumane conditions at HMP Long Lartin.
This update has been a long time coming ,not because things have improved, but because we have been fighting every single day to keep this individual alive. I had hoped to write once we had safely removed him from Long Lartin. Sadly, we’re not there yet.
🔹 The good news:
Against the odds, we have managed to keep him alive. A move to a mental health unit is now in motion — but it hasn’t happened yet, and he remains extremely vulnerable until that transfer takes place.
🔹 The reality:
Just a couple of weeks ago, this prisoner was left in a cell flooded with urine and faeces for over 48 hours. This happened because another prisoner in segregation, blocked their toilet causing it to overflow into the cell below.
This is what segregation at Long Lartin looks like:
No clean water
No dignity
No mental health care
No protection
You honestly can’t even imagine what goes on here — and he is not the only one.
🧠 Remember:
People are in prison to be rehabilitated, not to be tortured or neglected. This kind of treatment doesn’t make society safer it makes it more dangerous.
And believe it or not:
Not everyone in prison is guilty. Innocent people are being held too.
🛑 This is not over. We still need your help.
Please keep sharing this petition. Ask others to sign. Keep the pressure up.
Because without public attention, these stories stay buried and people suffer in silence behind locked doors.
Thank you for standing with us.
We are not giving up.
