Our parents migrated from India, and in the process of adapting to a new culture, we lost touch with our native language - Punjabi. We believe that reconnecting with our language is an essential step towards embracing our heritage and culture. This is why we are calling on Duolingo, one of the world's leading platforms for language learning, to introduce Punjabi as an option for learners.

Punjabi is spoken by over 100 million people worldwide (Ethnologue), making it one of the top 15 most spoken languages globally. Despite this significant number, options for learning Punjabi online are limited. By introducing Punjabi as a course option on Duolingo, not only will it help individuals like us reconnect with our roots but also promote cultural diversity and inclusivity within the platform.
