The Hyderabad-Kolkata route has witnessed a significant surge in passenger demand over the years, with an estimated 10-fold increase in recent times. This burgeoning demand is currently inadequately served by the existing train frequency, leading to severe overcrowding, inconvenience, and forcing many passengers to resort to expensive and time-consuming air travel.

Furthermore, the escalating costs of air travel have made it increasingly difficult for many passengers to afford this mode of transportation.

To address this critical issue, we, the undersigned, urgently request the Indian Railways to:

• Introduce a new daily train on the Hyderabad-Kolkata route.
• Increase the frequency of existing weekly trains on this route.
• Consider introducing a Duronto/Vande Bharat Express on this route, providing a faster and more comfortable travel option.

The introduction of these measures will significantly alleviate passenger congestion, offer more travel choices, and provide a more affordable and convenient rail travel option for the large Bengali community in Hyderabad, especially in light of the rising costs of air travel.
