As someone who loves cricket, I see the potential for this sport to thrive in our diverse community here in Frisco, Texas. Our city is home to a significant Desi population where cricket is not just a game but an integral part of their culture.  By introducing cricket as a sport in our high schools athletics, we would be acknowledging and celebrating this diversity while providing an opportunity for students to engage with the second most popular sport worldwide.

Frisco ISD already offers sports like baseball, softball, and golf. Given that baseball shares similarities with cricket, it's reasonable to believe that the infrastructure and skills needed for cricket are already partially established within our school system.

Cricket has proven its popularity on a global scale. It's played by over 120 countries and followed by billions of people around the world. This fact alone highlights its potential appeal among students who might be looking for something new or different from traditional American sports. Did you know that cricket is the 2nd most popular sport in the world? Yes! Right after Football (Soccer). 

By adding cricket to high school athletics, we can provide more opportunities for student engagement and participation while promoting cultural inclusivity within our community.
