Your support has helped turn one heartbreaking story into a movement for stronger animal welfare protections in Queensland. Because of your voices, we have been able to take this issue beyond social media and directly to decision-makers.

Over the past few months, members of the Justice for Arnie working group have met with the Attorney-General, spoken to people who have professional experience and expertise, and continued researching Queensland's animal welfare system.

While our work continues, we also want to support other community efforts that are helping keep animal welfare reform on the parliamentary agenda.

Earlier this year, Jennifer Horsburgh launched a Queensland Parliament e-petition calling for changes within the prosecution framework. If the petition reaches 10,000 signatures, it will be debated in the Queensland Parliament, providing another opportunity for this important issue to be considered.
