I have a heavy heart today so please excuse me it has been hard to learn of what has transpired today. This has confirmed why this petition needs to keep barking for Arnie and other pets.

Queensland Polices released an update this morning regarding Arnie's case. It is now reported that the vehicle was not stolen and that Arnie was allegedly left inside the vehicle by the owner. A male has been charged with a breach of duty of care under the Animal Care and Protection Act. As this matter is before the courts, I cannot comment on the police investigation.

The details of the petition have been updated; however, the purpose of the petition remains the same: advocating for stronger protection for companion animals and clearer accountability when pets are harmed, including situations where harm occurs during the commission of another offence, through reckless behaviour or deliberate neglect.
