As an Albanian, the lack of subtitles in my mother tongue on Netflix is deeply personal for me. Despite Albanian being one of the oldest languages, its existence seems to be overlooked on this popular streaming platform. Perhaps it's not widely known how many Albanians are eager to have accessible content on Netflix - we are more than 500,000 Albanians scattered around the world using the platform. The introduction of Albanian subtitles would not only honor our rich and ancient language, but it would also ensure that Netflix is more inclusive and accessible to all its users, regardless of their first language. Therefore, we urge Netflix to recognize our need for Albanian subtitles, considering the sizeable use of Netflix among Albanian speakers. This will significantly improve our viewing experience and show respect to our linguistic heritage. We call on all those who value language diversity and the right to enjoy cultural content in one's own language to sign this petition. Let’s advocate for greater inclusivity on Netflix.
