Happy New Year.  I hope you all had a deserved holiday break and are keeping safe from the Covid pandemic. This is my first update of the year on the Lekki shooting and as you will note from the posted article, the Nigerian Army after lying through its teeth about what took place at Lekki on the evening of 20th October 2020, has now decided to ignore all further summons to attend the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Enquiry into the incident. I must say that l am not in the least surprised at this development and l just hope that the International Criminal Court can now draw the right conclusions and justify its existence by opening a preliminary investigation into the incident with a view to bringing those responsible to justice. Finally, they can be rest assured about one thing: This will not fade away and it will not be forgotten.
