The Central Bank of Nigeria has obtained court orders to freeze the bank accounts of 20 individuals and organisations linked to the #EndSARS protests after the government previously  pleaded with the protesters to suspend their  protests and stated that  it was ready to engage in a dialogue with them. This calls into question the sincerity of the Nigerian government in meeting the demands of the protesters and also suggests that the authorities are determined to maintain the status quo of human rights violations in the country.
