This is the Nigerian President Mohammadu Buhari appealing for ‘understanding’ and calm the day after the young peaceful protesters at Lekki in Lagos faced a hail of bullets from soldiers of the Nigerian Army.  He gave  no message of condolence to the families of the victims of the shootings and the survivors, no statement about an enquiry/investigation into the incident, not even the standard official line about bringing those found responsible to book. This man should face justice, come hell or high water.
