Mandate Animal Orgs/Services to Publish ALL Found Animals Immediately.

The Issue

This is more than important because the lack of effort provided by the majority of Animal Organizations and the Community Animal Services is certainly at a bare minimal. It does indeed make me wonderf if euthanizing is more profitable than getting that animal/family member home, because we all know that as soon that animal is taken in, well, the clock starts ticking, and it is definitely not in their favor. The vast majority that are found, are indeed Family Members, and every effort to get them reunited should be made immediately.

I was recently told by my son't friend that it's more profitable for shelters to euthanize due to the tax write-off costs of euthanasia meds and disposal costs, and whether this is true or not, I really don't know, but the lack of effort certainly makes me believe that. I urge anyone reading this to look at an animal shelter in their community and see what they're doing for the 'Found'. Are they putting forth effort to get them home, or are they not and just leaving a statement up as to what you should do if you've lost one.  I myself do NOT like seeing the Animal Control truck, as to me it seems as if they're looking for a quota and will take any animal they see, even a cat sitting on a porch, and  when they do, they certainly won't go back and put that cat on their website. The average owner would think their cat would be back, not knowing that the clock has already started ticking.

To receive our Tax-Dollars or to be able to retain a 501(c)3 Status any and all Animal Organizations/Shelters should have to comply with immediately publishing their intakes, and the 501(c)3 Filing Application should have an amended line that states, "To receive a 501(c)3 Status I understand that it is my duty to make sure that all animals Found will be published on our website(s) the same exact day." It's been long conceived by most of the general public that Animal Organizations have the best interests of animals in mind with their heartbreaking commercials, and being how they receive millions of dollars in support every year due to their 501(c)3 Status, they should certainly be mandated to publish Found animals immediately, and stop looking at only from a  business stand-point. Same goes for Community Animal Control Services which atomatically receive a portion of our tax-dollars.

Please Sign and Share whether you think this will affect you or not. If only one pet was saved by this, to me it'd be well worth the the time I've taken to write this and the 3 hours it's taken me to finally get a photo uploaded. It only take you 5 seconds to sign. We can either sit back and hope for a change, or we can unite to create that change.

Thank You,

-Janice
