Thank you for bringing forward the request for sidewalk on Main Street from Municipal Road 80 to River Road.
Since its approval in 2017, staff have been utilizing the Sidewalk Priority Index (SPI) tool for prioritizing investments in the city's sidewalk network. Its objective is to analyze the entire road network to identify pedestrian travel patterns, identify gaps in pedestrian infrastructure, and prioritize investments in sidewalks to enhance mobility options within the community. The SPI tool scores the road network against the warrant with the highest priority locations receiving the highest score. Over the past five years, the SPI has been used by staff to assist in the select standalone sidewalk construction projects.
