Hi All.  Thank you for supporting the petition to install wildlife fencing on the Monaro Highway.  We currently have 2308 supporters.  We have done a count of the 208 wildlife collisions sites that occurred over the ski season and plotted the locations on a Google earth map, link below:

https://earth.google.com/web/data=MkEKPwo9CiExMFlxZkx5bDBob200RUZMUm12WEhrSzJONkpNeTNQZ28SFgoUMDkwN0U5MDlENjNCMUIxN0M4Q0MgAUICCABKCAix19qTBBAB?authuser=0&fbclid=IwY2xjawNlGaNleHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETFNY2NhS0hWUmh3c3VibnZYAR5wMRlmCuBvxUCbYcFMBHf1gwDDl7u9VidM-6rfqJa6t1m8SyWDU7TBJ1RwOg_aem_d6mLjW4-5cnRY6tqClgkNw

I have requested a meeting with Steve Whan MP for Eden Monaro to gauge his interest.  It would help if you could go to his contact page:

https://stevewhan.com.au/contact-steve/

and request that he support the call for Wildlife protection fencing on the Monaro Highway.

Now that the winter ski season is over the death toll of wild animals will lessen slightly but will not stop as the season for coastal swimming, hiking and mountain biking kicks in.  The summer heat will cause the wild animal bodies to deteriorate quicker and the animal carnage will be less visible but no less of a problem.

Please help to reduce the number of wildlife collisions by reposting and re emailing your local members.

We need around 2,000,000 funding through Road safety and Environmental grants to establish a trial extending across the wildlife corridors of the Monaro Highway between Canberra and Cooma.  The technology is available, the only thing lacking is the political will to take action.

Thanks and regards

Ted Streatfeild
