Stanley Beach Road, Stanley Mound Road, and Stanley Village Road are narrow neighborhood roads, yet highly trafficked by private cars, taxis, Ubers, public mini and double decker buses, tourist buses, residential building shuttles, police vans, Stanley Fort military trucks, and all manner of vehicles operated by construction, utility, public works, and delivery drivers.

For years the residents of our community have witnessed reckless driving on these roads, most often due to speeding, putting our families and neighbors in imminent danger as pedestrians and drivers.  Reckless driving also impacts a number of other stakeholders in the community including local merchants, local Hong Kongers who come to Stanley to shop, eat, attend church, and enjoy the beach, and the ever-increasing number of post-Covid tourists.

By installing speed bumps, speed cameras, protected pedestrian crosswalks, and clear signage regarding speed limits, local government can reduce the number of speeding incidents and increase public safety.
