As active members of the local sports community, we have found pickleball to be an incredibly social and fun sport. It's a game that enables people of all ages to exercise in as little as 20 minutes.

This petition is for the installation of six dedicated pickleball courts in Cunningham Park, Queens New York.

Our proposal is to convert two of the most westerly tennis courts into six dedicated pickleball courts. We believe this would be the most cost-effective and expeditious way to achieve this goal. Notably, Cunningham Park would not be the first park in Queens to make such a conversion - Crocheron Park successfully transitioned 2 tennis courts into 6 pickleball courts in 2023.

The benefits are clear - more opportunities for residents of all ages to engage in physical activity, increased use of public spaces, and fostering community spirit through shared sporting activities.

 Let's follow Crocheron Park's successful example and bring this popular sport closer home.
