A 16-year-old boy named Chris lost his life. How many more will it take?
Pound Road has become a death trap.

In the past year alone, there have been at least five serious accidents on the same dangerous corner. Cars are repeatedly losing control. One vehicle crashed into my neighbours fence. Homes sit directly along this stretch of road.

Most heartbreakingly, 16-year-old named Chris, lost his life after a driver travelling at excessive speed ploughed into him before crashing into a tree.

A child is gone.

A family is heart broken.

A community is devastated.

And nothing has changed.

There is currently:

❌ No protective safety barrier between vehicles and pedestrians
❌ A footpath dangerously close to fast-moving traffic
❌ A known hazardous corner where cars repeatedly lose control
❌ Residential homes directly exposed to out-of-control vehicles
Residents are scared. Parents are scared. We are watching cars miss our fences by metres.

This is not a one-off accident. This is a pattern.

We are demanding urgent action from the City of Casey and VicRoads:

✔ Install protective safety barriers between the road and footpath
✔ Relocate the footpath further away from traffic
✔ Conduct an immediate road safety review
✔ Introduce stronger speed reduction measures and warning signage

No family should bury their child because a road was left unsafe.

No resident should fear a car coming through their living room.

No pedestrian should risk their life walking on a public footpath.

We are asking for prevention before another life is lost.
