The Issue

As a citizen deeply concerned about public health and the environment, I firmly believe that every individual has the right to know the quality of the air they are breathing. It’s not a luxury — it’s a basic human right that affects children, the elderly, and everyone in between. Poor air quality isn’t just a nuisance — it's a silent killer linked to asthma, heart disease, and reduced life expectancy.

Through Kishori Ventures Foundation, our initiative is to shine a spotlight on this growing crisis and push for the installation of real-time air quality monitoring displays across key locations in Ahmedabad — making pollution data transparent and visible to the public.

Similar displays are already working successfully in Gandhinagar. So why not in Ahmedabad — one of Gujarat’s most populated cities?

We propose public AQI (Air Quality Index) displays to be installed in the following zones based on pollution severity and population density:

🔴 High Pollution / Industrial & Waste-Prone Areas
(Urgent priority zones for public health transparency)

- Pirana Landfill & Gyaspur
- Naroda GIDC
- Vatva GIDC
- Odhav Industrial Area
- Sarkhej Industrial Zone
- Narol Circle
- CTM Circle
- Behrampura
- Danilimda
- Amraiwadi
- Jashodanagar / Isanpur
- Chandola Lake Area
- Maninagar (N.H.8)
- APMC Market (Jamalpur)
- Kankaria Lake Area

🟡 Medium Pollution / High-Traffic Residential & Commercial Zones
(Consistently congested and inhabited by vulnerable populations)

- Paldi
- Vasna / New Vasna
- Vejalpur
- Jivrajpark
- Satellite
- SG Highway (Iscon, Thaltej, Gota)
- Mansi Circle
- Vastrapur
- Navrangpura / University Road
- Ellis Bridge
- Ashram Road (Income Tax – Usmanpura)
- Drive-In Road / Helmet Circle
- Prahladnagar Garden

🟢 Low Pollution / Green Zones (for comparison & alerts)
(To monitor improvements and prevent future decline)

- Sabarmati Riverfront (East & West)
- Shilaj / Bopal
- Science City
- Gota / Chandkheda
- Gandhinagar Highway (towards Adalaj)
- Thol Approach Road
- Manipur / Sanand Border

💡 Why This Matters:
Air pollution affects every breath we take. It increases hospital visits, impacts child development, and worsens chronic illnesses. Yet, most citizens are unaware of the daily risks. Real-time AQI displays can:

- Raise awareness
- Educate the public
- Encourage behavioral change
- Pressure policymakers to act
- Lead to long-term solutions like planting trees, reducing waste, and cleaner transport

“What gets measured, gets managed.”
Let’s give Ahmedabad the tools it needs to fight air pollution — with data that speaks directly to the people.

📢 Sign this petition and demand that the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) and Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) install real-time AQI displays across our city.

Let’s make Ahmedabad breathe better and live healthier — together.
