Great news, everyone! The Cobb County Board of Commissioners has officially approved the contract to upgrade the Jamerson Road/Davis Elementary crosswalk. 🎉

This means that $150,000 will be invested to install lighted crossing signals and add a traffic-calming median—critical improvements that will help protect families, students, and staff crossing this busy road every day. Even better, work is expected to be completed before the start of the second semester.

A huge thank you goes to Cobb DOT Director Drew, Commissioner JoAnn Birrell, and Chief Pickett for their leadership and support in prioritizing this project. Their partnership has been essential in moving us from concern to action.

This milestone would not have been possible without the unified voices of this community. What started as a petition in the wake of tragedy has now translated into real, tangible progress for safer streets.

Thank you for standing together and proving that advocacy works. Our children’s safety is worth every effort.

If you would like to see the examples of what the improvements will look at I encourage you to see the news coverage here: 11Alive Jamerson Crosswalk
