The Issue

Since the opening of Stonegate Elementary School, the residents of Columbus Road have experienced a considerable amount of traffic, speeding, and reckless driving far beyond the normal capacity of a neighborhood not built for the traffic of school pick-up and drop-off. This has led to a significant threat to the safety of neighbors, and especially their children. This petition aims to push the Transportation and Mobility Division of West Sacramento to establish speed bumps on Columbus Road in order to slow reckless drivers. If our neighborhood is going to be used for school pick-up/drop-off, our neighborhood should be properly equipped to handle the flow of traffic that comes with that burden.  This includes designated pick-up/drop-off zones with no parking times, speed bumps, and proper enforcement.
