Miraculously, they survived a terrifying 400-foot fall, but our lives have been forever altered. As I looked at the footage, my heart sank noticing the grim presence of several other cars at the base - tragic reminders of other lives impacted by this treacherous road. On that same day, another car went over, resulting in a tragic fatality just a few miles from where my son had his accident.

Apache Trail in Tortilla Flat, AZ, is famously dangerous, known for its sharp turns and perilous cliffs. Year after year, drivers unintentionally find themselves in life-threatening situations due to the lack of protective measures such as guard rails. Human error is inevitable, but catastrophic consequences shouldn't be. Simple safety installations could dramatically change the narrative here and prevent the loss of innocent lives.

In recent years, numerous vehicles have gone over these cliffs, leaving more than just wreckage behind; they leave grieving families and communities in despair. Installing guard rails along this hazardous stretch could prevent vehicles from plummeting down these 400-foot cliffs and save countless lives. The staggering presence of car remains at the bottom of various sections of the trail underscores the urgent need for action.

It is high time that precautionary measures are implemented on Apache Trail. We cannot afford to lose more lives to inaction. Let us protect our loved ones and future travelers by taking immediate steps to install guard rails.
