Petition updateInstall CCTV in our apartment building lobbyResponses to the comments left on a flyer

Some people have written comments on a few flyers and I would like to address them.

"get a doorbell camera. use an in store amazon drop box"
How are we meant to install a doorbell camera when the front door stays locked? Some apartments don't even have a doorbell. The amazon drop box is a valid suggestion but there are some people that are disabled and can't physically make the trip. Plus, other people can have packages comfortably sent to their home addresses so shouldn't we have the right to that as well?

"STOP putting these up. You are telling everybody that walks by or visits the building, that we don't have security cameras. It's cognitively stupid."
I do see your point with this and I apologize as I didn't consider that. I will stop putting flyers facing out towards the streets and instead limit them to the inside of the building and facing inwards. The cognitively stupid comment is abit unnecessary but I understand.

"There are other ways to protect your packages and residence."
All suggestions are welcomed.

"This has been going on for months. Knock it off"
I believe that everyone has a right to be heard and I will continue until action has been taken, sorry. I will not be putting flyers on individual doors anymore as I believe everyone has received one and we only have 66 units in the building with over 80+ signatures. Posting flyers in public spaces should not be intrusive towards you or your home at all.

"I don't want to be recorded in my own home. It's a violation of my 15th amendment rights."
I am not asking for CCTV in hallways. It is standard practice to have CCTV installed in shared public areas such as the mailroom and entrance. I think especially now with all the ICE incidents, it's even more so relevant to have some sort of recorded proof in case anything were to happen.

"STOP! There are less dumb ways to do this WTF"
I have contacted management multiple times and spoke to maintenance but repeatedly get ignored. I have even recently consulted an attorney. I am always open to suggestions though.

"Then talk to the state of MN. Security cameras don't cause safety"
Yes, security cameras don't guarantee safety but it heavily deters criminal activity. I am already in the process of speaking to code enforcement.

Thank you for your input and hopefully this reaches you somehow!
Although they are in objection to the petition, I do greatly value everyone's opinions as it can only help the process.
I hope everybody has a wonderful day.
