Questions Raised in the Dail by Peter Roche

Update - Thankful that Peter Roche has raised this related question on road signage to the Department of Transport last week. The ministers answer highlights a larger national policy gap that local authorities/councils are not accountable for following the department of transports own recommendations on speed signage. In addition the minister noted councils across the country were allocated 10m in funding to support signage changes as part of the rollout in 2024 and 2025. See the answer for yourself here. Separately and gratefully Sean Canney ( As minister of state at the department of transport, and responsible for road safety and also one of our local TDs) and TD Peter Roche are following up with Galway county council on our request for a proper engineering assesment of road signage on the L2212 by the Tuam MD Engineer.

Worth noting All of our our elected local representatives/councillors named on this petition as decision makers remain completely silent on the matter as of today.

Updates to follow
