This dangerous intersection in Victorville, CA Hughes Rd/Rodeo Dr has become a constant source of fear and danger for us, the residents, and it's time we took a stand to remedy the situation. While many may have been  fortunate to survive, others might not be as lucky, and we do not want to wait for a tragedy before we take preventive action. I feel compelled to take action and seek the introduction of a traffic light or a 4-way stop.

This intersection is an endangerment to the children that get dropped off by the bus stops and have to cross the streets with no “pedestrian cross walks” on the road. The people parking their cars on Rodeo Dr going North and South block the view of other drivers trying to go East and West on Hughes rd. There have been many accidents on this intersection and still nothing has been done. 

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) reports that traffic signals can reduce certain types of vehicle crashes by approximately 50%. While stop signs can also help in reducing crashes. They demand equal right-of-way from all drivers, thus promoting safer intersections. Introducing a traffic light or a 4-way stop at this particular intersection will contribute towards safer roads, reducing accidents, and saving lives in our community.
